France has been birding for as long as he has been alive. Growing up in a birding family Dewaghe has traveled and birded all over the United States, Europe and has more recently gotten hooked on the tropics.

An avid photographer and birdbum, he spends as much of his free time (when not working as a full-time computer programmer) in the field, mostly around his home state of Delaware as well as Cape May, New Jersey.
