Forrest Rowland

Forrest Rowland started his professional birding career at the age of 22, when his interest in birds had already spanned for more than a decade. From Ecuador to the Sultanate of Oman, Forrest has birded and led birding tours through lowland Amazonian rain forests to the blowing sands of the Rub Al Khali. In 2007, research opportunities brought him back to the United States after living abroad for five years.
Most recently, Forrest has been involved in avian point count surveys for the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database, endangered Wyoming Pocket Gopher trapping, endangered Preble's Jumping Mouse trapping and more general avian/plant assessments for the state.
He is excited to be the lead counter for the first annual Cape Henlopen Hawk Watch in Delaware, his second Fall Hawk Watch in the state. When not working, Rowland enjoys traveling, photography, climbing, and expanding his bird, herp, and mammal life lists.
